You say that Christmas time is just for buying
presents,
And you say that singing carols is just a
thing we do;
You might even go to church the Sunday before
Christmas,
You may even remember that it’s Jesus’
birthday, too.
But if you look beyond the manger, you will see a rugged cross,
And beyond the cross you’ll find an empty tomb.
If you follow that star, like the Wise Men from afar,
You’ll find the King of Kings reaching for you.
Oh, I know that you’re busy with the
wrapping of your presents;
There’s the tree to trim and shopping
to do, and the kids are in the play.
I know there’s just not time enough
to get to all the parties;
And it looks like Jesus’ birthday will
just have to wait.
I wonder, just what will you do when Christmas
time is over?
Will you pack away the lights and stars and
throw away the tree?
And will you put the thoughts of Jesus far
away ‘til next year,
Or will you let Him in your heart? Oh, let
Him set you free!!
If you look beyond the manger, you will see a rugged cross,
And beyond the cross you’ll find an empty tomb.
If you follow that star, like the Wise Men from afar,
You’ll find the King of Kings reaching for you.
